How do I see what the errors are for my email blas

Wed, 2 Mar '11 @ 11:38 AM
Hi,

You may notice that we now display what the errors are for the email blast.

To view those errors go to "Reports" --> "View Reports". Click on "NonTransactional" in the "Type" column and then when you see something that says "Error" in the "Status" column, click on "details"

As described in a previous article, "NonTransactional" means email campaigns. "Transactional" means day to day emails.

Here is a summary of the different email statuses:

1.) Sent = This indicates that the message was accepted by the recipient's mail server, but does not indicate whether the email was delivered to the recipient's inbox. The Internet email system does not provide a way to determine inbox placement. It can only tell us that the message was accepted by the recipient's mail server.

2.) Opened = IF the e-mail was an HTML email, IF one of the recipients viewed the HTML email, IF one of the recipient's e-mail applications did not block/disable the html <img> tracking tag, AND IF the receipient opts to "Display images" for your email, will it be flagged as open. Only maybe 50% of email recipients will ever allow for the image to be opened.

3.) Delivery Suppressed = Our 3rd party email provider (Socket Labs) has identified this as a known bad email address

4.) Delivery Failure = The email address you are sending to is a bad email address, and we've just received a bounce notice.

5.) Error = The email didn't make it through for an array of reasons. Click "Details" in the "System: Email Delivery" report to find the cause of the non-delivery.

I hope that helps.

Kind Regards,
Geoff
