Customize the Look and Feel of Customer Portal

Wed, 13 Jul '11 @ 6:34 AM
Modify the look and feel of the customer facing portal. That is what this topic is all about. Without having to investing in deep integration with an existing web site, a great start would be to allow us to:
  • Insert a header graphic to be pulled into the customer facing portal so it matches our core site
  • Change the background colors and define
  • Change the text color
  • Define a few styles like H1, H2, H3
  • 1 or 2 custom buttons that we can put on the main bar facing customers. Primary use is something like "Home" and set the URL so that customers can get back to our page.

  • The hardest part of this is probably creating the framework to enable WETC customers to change the CSS settings. This would be hugely helpful and keep the WETC portal functionality on par with Zendesk, Assistly, and others.

Please vote for this if it would be helpful for you.

(This is redundant to another ticket I put in, which had a Subject line that was less clear and I could not edit it)

Perhaps the simplest way might be to allow the portal to be embedded as a frame - in the same way that Google Maps or Youtube can be embedded on your website. That would be very cool actually! Please vote for this if you'd like to see your customer portal embedded in a page on your company website.

I've also suggested this in the past - would love to see this functionality. Even the ability to change the text/verbiage on the screen would be a big plus. The fact that it states "Please contact us to obtain an account" is very deceiving to our non-clients as anyone has the ability to create a new account there by simply clicking on the "Register" link.
