Customer Web Access 'no such account'

Hello - Just signed up for a free trial and testing the customer access feature. Attempted to login as a customer using the www.myname.worketc.com portal. No such account is the error I get. I made sure the customer settings had the correct permissions, yet it still doesn't work. Does the website require a period of time after updating the settings for the customer to login? Or, is this disabled for the free trial?
