Integrating Gmail, iphone contacts (+calendar)

I'm sure I'm not alone in using an iphone and Google Apps gmail with WORKetc. I'm really not sure the best workflow for managing contacts within WORKetc so they are available on my devices: eg should I work within gmail or WORKetc most of the time? If I meet a new lead on the run do I add it to work etc first, and then how do I export it to gmail (Or do I send an email within worketc and that will create the contact in gmail)

I wonder if the team or other WORKetc users can share how they make all this work. I feel like I've got a scattering of contacts across my devices and platforms, so I'm really not acheiving my CRM goals.

Same applies to Calendar: I'm mostly using my iphone calendard for appointments etc and todos etc within worketc for projects, but things can get missed between the platforms
